Nail plate deformities affect 15–20% of people at some point in life and carry recurrence rates of up to 70% under conventional conservative treatment. This paper describes an orthonyxia technique that replaces rigid wire bracing with elastic components — orthodontic polyurethane chains or nitinol springs — to apply adjustable, gradual tension to the nail. In the study group, nail width increased from 2.0 mm to 4.1 mm over eight weeks with no discomfort or restriction of daily activity. The method is minimally invasive, applicable to different deformity types, and is the core of Stage 4 of the training system.
